Berthon Tour and Lunch

For our first Solent Gaffers event of 2025, we have arranged a visit to the renowned Berthon Boatyard in Lymington. We shall see the excellent work they have been doing since 1877, restoring and maintaining a wide variety of vessels.

Director Brian May tells us that (amongst many other things) they are currently working on a wooden 1943 Crash Boat, built in the USA.

The tour will start at 10.00am and last approximately one and a half hours.

There is no charge by Berthon, but we are asking for a £10/per booking donation to the Lymington Lifeboat.

Lunch

We have provisionally booked tables for 12.00 at the nearby Mayflower pub, for those who wish to warm up and socialise after our visit.

Given that the AGM dinner was lost to the weather, we would be delighted to see any of you joining us at the lunch, even if you did not want to visit the Boatyard.
